Pic Sent by a Colleague
Communicating that I am a vegetarian at an only Russian speaking restaurant in Tomsk, Siberia. The resulting outcome..was a pleasant and creative surprise for the risk I took to enter the restaurant that had only meat in the menu! and even soem rice with carrots and maize given with love can fill both the stomach and the heart!
Smuggled Metaxa in Aircraft
During an early morning flight from Heraklion-Athens-Milan, the duty free shop forgot to pack the precious 30 year old reserve Metaxa in the usual sealed cover. Caught at Athens security, what enused was a miraculous Indo-Greek negotiation, the officers found a way out and let me carry it!
After a hectic Darwin project review, around Easter I found a packet delivered at my desk. Inside was an energizing letter and few books! So thoughtful of senior scientists to encourage younger guys! Ofcourse I also sent back by postItalia a hand written letter!
From childhood, I have been fascinated by Boltzmann. After nearly 30+ visits to Vienna for official reasons, finally on 19th March 2015, I visited his grave in Zentralfriedhof. Naturally, tombstone bears the entropy formula..

Me inaugurating the first Pragyaa with Prof Chandrashekar, Director CEERI. Pragyaa was an attempt coordinated by me in 2005 to connect Industry, University and Local farming community. The first edition also saw participation from Richard Stallman, Michel Frank, leading politicians from India. The event is in its 10th year now with significant support from investors.

Bear d Bear
On a jungle patrol in April 2015, a bear appeared, I stopped the jeep to take a pic and it climbed and entered the empty space behind the vehicle, with only a thin layer of glass separating us.., after some exploration its mate appeared from the bushes and it exited my vehicle...

The trio of Gaudi, Dali and Picasso have inspired my thinking and inclination to visual art. This is a shot from the cathedral of Sagrada familia. I have also given a talk at another marvelous venue, La Pedrera. Barcelona feels close to Mumbai, though a little bit more organized!
The good old 60 hour method of travelling by Indian railways. Absolute peace, tranquility with no WiFi noise in the times of several low cost flight carriers. Moreover in the present time, the quality of food served is also improving to add to the long travel experience.
